2NE1′s Sandara Park will take up a variety MC post for the first time, joining JTBC′s Two Yoo Project – Sugar Man, which was recently picked up for regular programming.
According to YG Entertainment on October 5, Sandara Park will try her hand at hosting a variety show for the first time in six years since her debut with 2NE1 in 2009, joining MC Yoo Jae Suk, musician Yoo Hee Yeol and lyricist Kim Eana. Sandara Park has expressed her affection for variety in the past and displayed her off-the-wall, yet bubbly charms through Mnet′s 2NE1 TV.
The show, which aired as a pilot program in August and is awaiting to premiere in October, sets out in search of once-popular ′Sugar Men′ in an attempt to recreate their songs and make it a hit once more in the present day.
Rumor has it Sandara Park has resolved to show another side to her charms to add to her existing bouncy charms. The production team stated, “We think that Sandara Park has a unique strength that encompasses the emotions of the younger generation and the memories of the older generation. We predict she will actively radiate new, never-before-seen charms.”
Sandara Park said of trying her hand at hosting for the first time, “It′s my first time being a fixed MC, so first, I′m really happy, and I think it′s a good opportunity. I′m happy that I am able to do this with the best MC, the best composer and the best lyricist, and if the opportunity presents itself, as a singer who is capable of performing, I want to give a performance of what they created.”
Meanwhile, Sandara Park, who is taking steps as an actress, has received praise for her leading roles in web drama Doctor Ian and We Broke Up. Her latest role as Miss Korea′s North Korea representative in KBS′ Missing Korea, set to air in October, is also gathering interest. She is also set to make her big screen debut as the female lead in Crank.
